if you find this video helpful, I would love it if you would subscribe to my channel! This lets me know to make more videos.

Written Pattern for the Mushroom Cat Hat:

Supplies:

Yarn: Two colors of worsted/Standard 4 weight

I used:

¹ Big Twist: White - 37 yards

² Lion Brand Pound of Love: Cherry - 10 yards

Crochet Hook(s):

G (4.00 mm) hook

Other Supplies:

Scissors, Tapestry needle, & Stitch markers

Optional Supplies:

Closure accessory: one of the following

Snaps (you would also need snap pliers),

Velcro (you would need needle and thread to apply)

Or Button,

(If you don’t have or don’t want to use any of these things you can use yarn to tie closed as well)

Gauge swatch:

With G (4.00mm) hook and worsted (4) weight 100% acrylic yarn

Ch 17, Row 1: in 2nd bb from hook sc 16, Row 2 – 16: ch 1, turn, sc 16

Measures: 4” x 4”

Measurements:

This hat is made to fit a Tabby cat, if your cat is smaller or larger than a Tabby you may need to change up your hook and yarn size to fit to your cats head.

Front to back: 13cm (~5.25”)

Between ears: 5cm (~2”)

Ear holes: 4cm x 2.5cm (~1.5” x 1”)

Straps (row of 2sts): 9.5cm (~3.75”)

Notes:

-It can be beneficial to look through entire pattern before starting.

-The pattern is written in standard US terminology and written working right-handed

- 2sc = increase stitch, if inc is easier for you to follow than 2sc you can make notes throughout the pattern before starting.

-slst to join, is a slst that is pulled tight so it disappears, it is more of a knot than a stitch

- See finishing touches before starting for other closure options and how that might affect your first few rows.

-Puff sts can be modified from pulling two loops to 7 loops depending on how big of a puff you want for your spots.
