Updated: Oct 17, 2023

Part 2 of Alex the Unicorn is here to continue on the Too Cool for the Pool Crochet-A-Long hosted by Crochet Wizzard. Hope you have enjoyed making the 1st part of your Unicorn! Let's give Alex a body so he can enjoy the pool with their friends!

If you want to get the pattern bundle with all three patterns for a massive discount, you can purchase that here until July 2nd, 2023.

In this post we will be continuing to make Alex the Unicorn! Today, in part 2, we will be making the body, then in part 3, we will be making the pool ball. If you haven't yet, part 1 has the head of the Unicorn, as you will probably want a head to attach to the body.

The pdf pattern in my Ravelry shop, and the e-pattern in my Ribblr shop, along with the unicorn and ball instructions an intertube pattern is also included. these two patterns also have photos that go with each step of making your Unicorn!

Find the links to the Alex the Unicorn pdf and e-pattern below.

Leave a long tail, cut, and tie. Sew head to the body.

With a strand of yarn on a tapestry needle tie between legs, tie hole between legs closed, then weave between stitches at the slst join from Rnd 1 to Rnd 10, pull to sinch slightly, tie off, and wave in both ends

Tail:

Caron One Pound: pink – 5 to 10 yards (depending on how fluffy you want your tail to be)

Create the tail by making 6” loops and tie at one end of the loop and cut the other end to create fringe. Tie on back at Rnd 10/Rnd 11 of body

Option 1: you can leave them looped, or tassel with intact strands

Option 2: you can pull the 4ply strands apart

Option 3: you can brush out the yarn

Note: you probably want to pick the same option as you did for the mane

and trim to desired shape

Part 3 will be posted on June 30th, 2023; where we will continue onto Alex the Unicorn's pool day accessory, the beach ball!
